Anthony moderated the “Government’s Role with Startups” panel during Triangle Entrepreneurship Week. Here is some film coverage of the event. Sorry for the fragmentation and horrible angle!

Dwight Bassett – Economic Development for City of Raleigh
Dwight Bassett is the Economic Development Manager for the City of Raleigh. He is another person on the list of individuals who are making a huge impact in the Triangle. Innovation and entrepreneurship are a main focus for Dwight, which has led to some very cool initiatives.
Not very many people can say they have a Harley Davidson motorcycle and hold a “bureaucratic’ position. Dwight happens to be one of those people but he tends to leave the bureaucratic aspects of his job for other people. Next on the plate is telling the story of the City of Raleigh. We are excited to see what that entails!

Mary Ann Baldwin – Raleigh City Council
Get ready for this one. Absolutely absurd. We tricked another government official into sitting in our interrogation room! Mary Ann Baldwin is a well-connected Raleigh City Councilmember. She has been a crucial leader in the Innovate Raleigh initiative, along with numerous other cool projects.
Oh yeah…the camera hit our 30 minute limit. Deal with it. We had cool shit to talk about because the Triangle is going places. Watch this interview to understand why. If you’re scared of progress, get a dog! We’re going places and we need government officials like this to create the environment and get the hell out of the way! (Mary Ann is on board with this idea). Follow her on Twitter @MaryAnnBaldwin.
We want to hear what you think about government’s role in entrepreneurship. Tweet us @TripreneurTV with what you think the most important thing government can do to help entrepreneurs? Be bold, be obnoxious, be honest.
